Goats
Goats are ruminant animals so fibre plays an important part of their diet. A plentiful supply of good quality hay or pasture must be available at all times and animals should be allowed to eat this to appetite.
For a balanced diet give Barastoc Goat Pellet or Barastoc Goat Mix as a supplementary feed. It contains the essential level of protein and energy for growth, breeding, and lactation. And as urinary calculi is a common health problem for goats, Barastoc Goat Pellet and Barastoc Goat Mix contain Ammonium Chloride or Ammonium Sulphate for urinary tract health. (Consult your veterinarian for advice on prevention and treatment of this health problem.)
To cater for varying requirements Barastoc offer both a pelletised feed called Barastoc Goat Pellet and a muesli-style feed called Barastoc Goat Mix.
Barastoc Goat Mix is lower in energy and higher in fibre, which is ideal for fibre producing goats. Barastoc Goat Pellet is higher in energy and lower in fibre ideal for meat and milking goats.
Feeding Guide for Goats Animals should be fed Barastoc Goat Pellet or Barastoc Goat Mix in troughs. It is important to adapt goats to these feeds so it is recommended that feed intake be increased gradually over a two to three week period to minimise the risk of acidosis (grain poisoning).

For best management practice do not feed more than 1 kilogram of Barastoc Goat Pellet or Barastoc Goat Mix per meal for adult goats, and no more than 0.25 kilograms per meal to young and growing goats.
